Hey there. You have probably heard or read about the health benefits of being gluten-free and you maybe wondering, should I go on a gluten-free diet? My personal view on this is yes, if not a strict gluten-free diet then a partial one, simply reduce your gluten intake. Being gluten-free has a lot of health benefits and yes if you’re wondering it does aids in weight-loss.
Some people have no choice, no ifs, buts or maybes, they have to be on a gluten-free diet. This includes people who have been diagnosed with Celiac Disease and gluten sensitivity. They can’t even eat food that has been prepped where food containing gluten has been prepared, because of cross contamination. It’s that serious guys! For the rest of us we can simply avoid gluten and cross contamination is not as a big of a deal. For me, since I’ve eliminated gluten from my diet I haven’t felt better. I experience fewer symptoms less often.
If you are like most people and you aren’t bothered by gluten, should you still start a gluten-free diet? Sure, why not. A lot of people who are not gluten sensitive and have cut gluten from their diet reported feeling a whole lot better. Although you should approach this with caution, if your main goal is to lose weight you may end up gaining. Not every food labeled as gluten free is healthy and can sometimes be just has bad for you as the foods that contain gluten. If weight loss is your intention or simply a healthier lifestyle, make sure you are consuming a balanced diet.
